OSHA 8-Hour Annual
Refresher -
Respiratory Protection & HAZWOPER

|
The HAZWOPER
standard governs health and safety for three classifications of
workers: emergency responders, hazardous waste operations workers,
and TSD workers. After workers in each classification
have received their basic training, they must receive annual
refresher training. This course is designed to meet the
qualifications of each category. Subjects taught include the use of
the NIOSH pocket guide, DOT guidebook, respirator selection, and
recent changes to pertinent regulations. General site workers,
supervisors, fire department officials, and safety directors will
find this course interesting and informative.

OSHA 24-Hour Emergency
Response to Hazardous Materials-Technician Level
 |
This
is required training for public or private hazardous materials
response teams. 29 CFR 1910.120(q) mandates a minimum of 24 hours of
training covering specific training topics. This is designed to
bring a responder to the technician level of hazardous materials
response. Technicians may perform offensive maneuvers at an
emergency scene, such as patching leaks, cleaning up spilled
product, etc. Students will learn proper selection and use of
personal protective equipment, hazard assessment techniques, air
monitoring principles, decontamination, and more. The course is
designed for Level “A” response but all levels are covered.

|
OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous
Waste Safety for the General Site Worker

|
The
HAZWOPER standard 29 CFR 1910.120(e) requires 40 hours training
off-site and 3 days of field experience in order to work on a
hazardous waste site. This course is designed to meet the training
requirement. Students will learn proper selection and use of
personal protective equipment, hazard assessment techniques, air
monitoring principles, decontamination, permit procedures for
confined spaces, hazardous properties of chemical wastes, and more.
The course is designed for Level “A” response but all levels are
covered. This course incorporates several hands-on drills including
an outside drill with Level “A” operations at a spill site.

|
EPA 8-Hour Regulations
for Management of Hazardous Wastes

|
This course
is designed to familiarize participants with the regulatory
requirements imposed by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
concerning disposal and storage of hazardous wastes. This course
emphasizes 40 CFR part 262 requirements to include manifesting,
pre-transport requirements, record keeping and reporting. Students
will receive information on accumulation time and penalties. Topics
covered include requirements for large quantity generators,
small quantity generators and conditionally exempt small quantity
generators.

OSHA 30-Hour Safety for
General Industry

|
A 3-day course covering OSHA
safety regulations applicable to General Industry. Subjects covered
include fall protection, machine guarding, electrical hazards,
chemical hazards, powered industrial trucks, personal protective
equipment, and other subjects. For groups it can be tailored to
your needs. Helps meet "Competent Person" requirements.
Presented by OSHA certified "Outreach Program" trainers. In
addition to the normal 8 x 10 certificate, each student receives a
wallet-size training certificate from OSHA Training Institute.
 |
OSHA 30-Hour
Construction Safety

|
OSHA
29 CFR 1926 requires a “Competent Person” on a
construction-site.
This person must be competent in the phases of construction
currently underway. A “Competent Person” is someone who has the training and
experience needed to recognize safety and health hazards and the
authority to take immediate corrective action. This 3-day course is
packed with information on all phases of construction. Subjects
covered include fall protection, scaffolding, electrical hazards,
chemical hazards, cranes, forklifts, trenching and others.

OSHA 16-Hour
Confined
Space Rescue
 |
While a confined
space entry is in
progress, rescuers are required to be available to respond in a
timely manner. Fire departments cannot fill that function. They are
not a “stand by” organization. In addition, they might not have
the specialized rescue equipment needed for extrication from your
spaces; or it is possible they are not trained in confined space
rescue procedures. OSHA encourages on-site rescue teams since they
are more familiar with your spaces and can effect a more timely
rescue. This course teaches basic rescue techniques, use of the necessary equipment for
horizontal and vertical rescues, patient packaging, spine
immobilization, litter basket rescue, mechanical advantage haul
systems, supplied air respiratory protection, rapid patient access,
along with other procedures. he
second day incorporates four different rescue scenarios using our
confined space simulator that can be towed to your site.
 |
Respirator Fit Testing
 |
Respirator Fit Testing is offered on the third day
of our OSHA 24-Hour Emergency Response course during the hours of
3:00 and 5:00 p.m. Advance registration is required.
Qualitative only is offered.
Registrants must bring the following:
Proof of Medical Evaluation
Organic Vapor Cartridges
Respirator
This testing meets the requirements of 29CFR 1910.134

OSHA
8-Hour Incident Command
 |
In
responding to HAZMAT incidents the "Incident Command
System" is mandated by 29 CFR 1910.120 (q).
Emergencies of all kinds require an informed and
competent individual in charge. An Incident Commander is not
only required to have 24 hours of training equal to the operations
level, but also must have additional knowledge and skills as
described in par. (q)(6)(v). This course is designed to
familiarize commanders with management terminology and procedures
used by emergency responders from the public and private
sector. Establishing command, designating sectors, and
coordinating private sector resources with public safety agencies
will lead to safe and efficient handling of emergencies of all
kinds. This course offers an opportunity to learn from
experienced instructors.
 |
OSHA 8-Hour Confined
Space Entry
 |
29
CFR 1910.146 requires documented training for confined space workers.
Anyone serving as entrant, attendant, supervisor, or rescuer must be
trained to a level of proficiency with the duties they are to perform.
This course covers the regulatory requirements to include the written
program, principles of atmospheric monitoring, permit procedures,
ventilation, flushing, space isolation, and other procedures. Included are
two hands-on drills using our simulator (Trailer). One drill involves a
horizontal entry and another involves a vertical entry with a tripod and
harnesses. This course is recommended for supervisors, entrants and
attendants. This course does not cover rescue however, rescuers are required to be trained as entrants.
