OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Safety
for the General Site Worker
The
HAZWOPER standard 29 CFR 1910.120(e) requires 40 hours training off-site
and 3 days of field experience in order to work on a hazardous waste site.
This course is designed to meet the training requirement. Students will learn proper
selection and use of personal protective equipment, hazard assessment
techniques, air monitoring principles, decontamination, permit procedures
for confined spaces, hazardous properties of chemical wastes, and more.
The course is designed for Level “A” response but all levels are
covered. This course incorporates several hands-on drills including an
outside drill with Level “A” operations at a spill site.
